SG 407 2/6d (Reddish) Grey Brown (Very Worn Plate) De La Rue Seahorse in fair used condition with very attractive upright, dated ( Bradford ? ) CDS for the classic 1916 period associated with the earlier printings on the old Waterlow plates, very heavy plate wear noted.

Interesting shade that fits into neither one associated with worn plate printings and has a distinct reddish hint to the shade of brown nothing like the very monochrome greyish though clearly not of the later N64 (12) shade either.

This said, it is not a perfect copy with the main fault being a weak upper left corner perf and less significant the small registered crayon strokes.
