D27 1937-8 1/2d Emerald Green Postage Due Watermark "G VI R" G 40 Perforated Control in Post Office fresh unmounted mint condition.


Grade here of course stipulating that the entire reverse of both the stamp and the selvedge are free of any mounting, disturbance or blemish.

Most of the panes of D27 with perforated bottom margin (and single perf hole at the left) were used for overprinting for "M.E.F." where they are relatively common alongside this perf type.

The resultant rarity of the this GB none overprinted 1/2d G40 with full perforated lower bottom margin being down to the fact that only at most an odd sheet left over when they'd finished overprinting "M.E.F." overprints.

Like every stamp I sell this has been fully checked and confirmed by myself as correctly identified and described, not just removed from album where it was listed as such.

This said, having a marginal on these postage dues is a huge aid to easy identification.
