SG 255 10d Slate Purple & Carmine OCP M43 (-) in very fine and fresh very lightly mounted mint condition, using the same magnification with which the front is examined reveals the faintest hint of linear feature to reverse gum to hint at any possible previous mounting to the characteristic fresh gum.

Slight surface smudging which , on these early thin coated papers, manifests as here with the head plate ink highlighting the individual fibres of the pulped Irish linen cloth from which the papers were made.

This stamp also has a nice unlisted variety with a split duty plate to the N.East corner of the left hand value tablet where the natural weakness created by the "d" of 10d has split to both upper and right hand sides.
